Role Summary

The race engineer is in charge of one of our race cars at test and race events. They will lead a team of engineers and work with the driver to extract the maximum performance of the car.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • To run one of our race cars at every event
  • To lead a car team of engineers and technicians
  • To work with the driver to extract the best possible performance out of the car on track
  • Provide the driver with all relevant technical information
  • Define and execute run plans for each track session
  • Work with the performance engineer in the optimization of the setup and car systems
  • Be responsible for ensuring the car complies with all legality requirements
  • Work with the no 1 mechanic on car preparation, quality, and operation during sessions
  • Ensure all documentation is produced in a timely manner before, during, and after events


Target Profile

  • Educated to an engineering degree level with a broad based education in mathematics and physics
  • Experience of race engineering at World Championship level, ideally in F1 in the Hybrid era
  • A good understanding of  Vehicle Dynamics
  • A good knowledge of the practicalities and principles of race car systems
  • Understanding in the use of vehicle simulation tools
  • Experience in use of data analysis software ideally ATLAS
